Gulf Catastrophe . . . who’s in charge??

Sadly, the United States Coast Guard appears to be sitting idly by while British Petroleum ‘runs the show’!

According to the U.S. Coast Guard web site:

From their web site:

The United States Coast Guard is a military, multimission, maritime service within the Department of Homeland Security and one of the nation’s five armed services. Its core roles are to protect the public, the environment, and U.S. economic and security interests in any maritime region in which those interests may be at risk, including international waters and America’s coasts, ports, and inland waterways.

For those who are still not sure of the role and duties the U.S. Coast Guard has been entrusted to fulfill, Rodney Dale Class (DALE Vs UNITED STATES) has researched U.S. law and statutes that define their obligations and cited them June 8, 2010 on TalkShoe internet radio.

However, currently they seem to have abandoned their obligations to the population of the Gulf coastal areas and allowed a foreign corporation, British Petroleum, Inc., to take command.

Matt Simmons, President of Simmons and Company, International the world’s largest energy investment company explains the need for the U.S. government to intervene in the Gulf oil crisis:

Meanwhile British Petroleum buys Google and Yahoo search words.

“In their most tenacious effort to control the ‘spin’ on the worst oil spill disaster in the history, BP has purchased top internet search engine words so they can re-direct people away from real news on the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe.”

And film maker James Fox relays his bizarre experiences as an investigative journalist in Louisiana during the Gulf Coast media blackout. His impression is that the media-blackout has been ordered (and enforced?) by British Petroleum. James Fox 18 minute interview

Meanwhile the situation becomes increasingly more dire for Gulf residents (human and wildlife). According to the group ‘Seize BP’:

“The greatest environmental disaster with no end in sight! Eleven workers dead. Millions of gallons of oil gushing for months (and possibly years) to come. Jobs vanishing. Creatures dying. A pristine environment destroyed for generations. A mega-corporation that has lied and continues to lie, and a government that refuses to protect the people,” Seize BP said in a statement.

One response to “Gulf Catastrophe . . . who’s in charge??

  1. Thanks a lot for this. I feel that one of the worst things about this whole situation, beyond the actual oil of course is the way that British Petroleum has been permitted to run the show, and more importantly, control the information. An absolute disgrace…
